Summer Palace
Situated

Situated
in the centre of Beijing proper, Palace Museum was once the imperial
palace of the Ming and Qing Dynasties ,occupying an area of 720000m2
. It consists of many magnificent palaces and halls ,encircled by
a 3000meter-long city wall and a moat. |

Temple of Heaven
Standing
in the southern part of Beijing proper ,it is the largest complex
of temples in China ,occupying an area of 2.7 million m*m .The main
buildings include Circular Mound Altar ,Imperial Vault of Heaven
,Hall of prayer for good harvest and some other buildings. |

Ming Tombs
Situated
at the foot of Tianshou Mountain in Chaanngping County, it is the
burial site of 13 Ming emperors and 23 empresses, and the best-preserved
imperial tombs, covering an area of 40 km2. Among the thirteen tombs,
Changling Tomb is the largest and most magnificent. The Ling'en
Hall of Changling Tomb is the biggest wooden structure in China.Dingling
Tomb lies to the southwest of Changling Tomb, of which the highlight
is its underground palace. More than 3000 pieces of precious historical
relics were unearthed. In 1959, a museum was established at the
site of Dingling Tomb, since then, Ming Tombs have become one of
the most famous tourist areas. |

The Great Wall at Badaling
First
built over2000 years ago, the Great Wall is reputed as a wonder
of the world. Lying in Yanqing County northwest of Beijing, Badaling
section of the Great Wall is quite magnificent and typical among
the Ming Great Walls.This section of the Great Wall was built with
giant stone slabs and specially-made bricks,with watch towers, embrasures
and drainage system. The Wall is 6-7 metres high and more than 5
metres wide at the top,with beaco towers built at nearby places
with broad view for sending signals during wartime.Now, a Great
Wa Museum,a cable way and some other buildings have been set up
in this area.
