Guizhou Province is a part
of the Yun-Gui Plateau. The entire terrain slopes at a steep angle
from the centre toward the north, east and south, with an average
elevation of over 1000 metres.In the limestone areas, the land surface
is incised strongly, namely so called karst characterized by precipitous
slopes, protuberant mountains, caverns and subterranean streams,
and steep gorges.
It enjoys a subtropic highland humid monsoon climate, with warm
summer and mild winter. The annual average temperature is 10-20?.Rainfall
is plentiful, with an annual mean precipitation of 900-1500 mm.
Guizhou
is one of the regions with developed tourist industry in China.
The rational major famous scenic areas include the well-known Huangguoshu
Waterfall, Wuyang River, Hongfeng Lake, Zhijin Cave, Longgong(Dragon
Palace,) Cave, Zhangjiang River, etc. Others are Mt.Qianling, Jiaxiu
Tower, and the Site of Zunyi Meeting, etc.
Guizhou
has a large number of minority people, therefore, the local conditions
and customs of various minority nationalities are of graceful bearings.
The
province boasts plenty of famous local products. The world-famous
Maotai Wine is made here. Wax printing in Anshun,Pottery in Pintang,
Lacquerware in Bijie and Meijiang tea and Maofeng tea are all well
received by the tourists.
